Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to give a big gift to the people of Modinagar and Hapur on February 26. To relieve thousands of vehicle drivers from traffic jams, the Prime Minister will virtually lay the foundation stone for the Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at Raj Chaupla. Along with this, the work of the sturdy model underpass will also begin.
Raj Chaupla on the Delhi-Meerut road is the busiest point of Modinagar as it is the only route from here to the neighboring district of Hapur. This is the only route from Modinagar to Hapur. This is why there is more pressure on vehicles on the Modinagar-Hapur route from Raj Chaupla. There is a railway crossing 100 meters from Raj Chaupla on the Modinagar-Meerut route.
Several trains, including locals, run on the Ghaziabad-Meerut section in the morning, causing traffic jams from around nine in the morning until noon. During this time, the railway gate opens for only five to ten minutes, but due to the increased pressure of vehicles, there is no relief from the jam. As soon as the gate closes, the jam starts again, causing inconvenience to vehicle drivers on the Delhi-Meerut route as well.
Raj Chaupla ROB was first demanded by the people of Modinagar in 1990. Several agitations were held, but the railway proposals could not come out of the papers. 34 years later, the people of Modinagar are about to receive this gift. Before this, the Prime Minister had fulfilled the 42-year-old demand of Dhobighat ROB.
The Prime Minister is also laying the foundation stone for the Railway Underpass in the sturdy model. The work of this underpass, which will be built at a cost of around Rs 25 crore, has also started. After the underpass is built, more than 15,000 vehicle drivers will get relief.
The Prime Minister is laying the foundation stone for this on February 26, but it will take some time for the work to start on the ground. The reason for this is that the railway has estimated its part to be around Rs 20 crore, but the DPR of the work to be done on both sides of the railway line has not been prepared by the local agency.
